The Foundation funds two intensive weekend drawing workshops annually. Each workshop is for 20 visual arts teachers from schools in regional NSW.
Professional staff from the National Art School travel throughout the state to conduct these workshops often held during the tour of the Dobell Drawing Prize.
Teachers from country areas of NSW are brought together with their peers and offered an opportunity to improve their own drawing skills. The workshops also offer a forum for discussing new approaches and ideas for their classrooms.
The Regional Teacher Training Workshops have a multiplier effect with visual arts teachers returning to their students with fresh perspectives and new techniques that benefit students.
The workshop locations have included: Albury, Armidale, Batemans Bay, Bathurst, Bulli, Cowra, Dubbo, Gilgandra, Griffith, Lake Munmorah, Maitland, Moree, Mullumbimby, Murwillumbah, Narooma, Narrabri, Port Macquarie, Tamworth, Tweed Heads and Wollongong.
