Art Gallery Society

The Dobell Art Foundation sponsors an art lecture program developed and presented by the Art Gallery Society (AGS), the membership organisation of the Art Gallery of New South Wales.

Lectures and talks are held at the Art Gallery of NSW and reach a wide audience. This program assists the Foundation to meet its commitment to promote art in NSW and support lifelong learning in the visual arts.

All AGS programs are open to both members and the general public and offer year round opportunities to increase knowledge and engagement with the visual arts.

In the past the Foundation has supported a range of AGS lectures, including the Learning Curve series presented by experts in architecture and design, as well as art history. More recently the Foundation’s sponsorship has been supporting a series of intimate interviews with contemporary artists titled, Artists in Conversation, which have been recorded for posterity.
